Freeman Winery, Corvina Rondinella, Hilltops, NSW – 2019
Corvina and Rondinella are both Italian varietals that are regularly blended to create the
regional wines Bardolino and Valpolicella. Corvina’s most notable characteristic is its sour cherry flavor,
lack of color and little tannin. Meanwhile, Rondinella is neutral in flavor and favored by growers due to its
yields. Together they create a light easy-drinking Valpolicella inspired wine, brimming with personality,
flavour and texture. Whilst this particular wine is made for drinking ‘now’, the Freeman winery in NSW
also produce the blend using dried grapes aging it for a totally different expression of the varietals.
